Rélizane est situé au à l’ouest de l’algérie, limité par la nord par les wilaya de Mostaganem et Chlef au sud par Tiaret, à l’Oest, par Mascara et l’Est par Tissemsilt.

La wilaya comporte 38 commune ( département ) ; Ain Rahma, Ain Tarek, Ammi Moussa, Belaacel Bouzegza, Bendaoud, Beni Dergoun, Beni Zentis, Dar Ben Abdellah, Jidioua, El Guettar, El Hamadna, El Hassi, El Matmar, El Ouldja, Had Echkalla, Hamri, El Kalaa, Lahlef, Mazouna, Mediouna, Mendes, Merdja Sidi Abed, Ouarizane, Oued Essalem, Oued Rhiou, Ouled Yaich, Oued El Djemaa, Ouled Sidi Mihoub, Ramla, Relizane, Sidi Khettab, Sidi Lazreg, Sidi M'Hamed Ben Ali, Sidi M'Hamed Benaouda, Sidi Saada, Souk El Had, Yellel, Zemmoura.
Résumé Historique :
L’histoire de La ville de Relizane remonte à L’époque des royaumes des Numides qui se situe entre 203 et 213 avant J.C. Son ancien nom était Mina qui tire son origine de l’appellation de Oued -Mina sur lequel est située la commune de Relizane, prés du confluent.
La région de la Mina a connu sous la domination romaine qui a duré prés de cinq siècles, son apogée dans le développement agricole et commercial en raison de la fertilité de ses terres et de la richesse de son sol.
L’islam avait fait son apparition dans la région de l’Ouest en 681 , en 719-720 les tribus de Relizane étaient toutes reconverties à l’islam avec l’arrivée de Moussa-Ibn-Nassir.
Ce n’est en 1852 que les troupes françaises avaient occupé Relizane ; c’est en vertu du décret du 24 Janvier 1957 que fût décidé la création,à Relizane, d’un centre de 4.000 ha avec 100 jeux et 20 fermes.
